Good news! South Mumbai's oldest and legendary single screen, Liberty, will re-open with Ekta Kapoor and Vishal Bhardwaj's Emraan Hashmi-starrer EK THI DAAYAN.

It had closed down for a couple of months in the wake of increasing competition from neighboring cinemas like Sterling, Eros, New Excelsior and Regal. Come April 19 and the theatre will open its doors again to audiences with EK THI DAAYAN. 

Balaji has decided to support the single screen with its other heavy-duty releases like SHOOTOUT AT WADALA, LOOTERA and ONCE UPON A TIME IN MUMBAAI...AGAIN.

A delighted Vazir Hussain, owner of Liberty Cinema said, “We have four films lined up. We will see how it goes.”

Vishal Bhardwaj and Ekta Kapoor the producers of ‘Ek Thi Daayan’, were summoned by the National Commission for Women (NCW). They wanted to see the film before its release on the basis of a complaint filed by Wiccan priestess Ipshita Roy Chakraverti. But the makers believe that the Censor Board is the highest authority and showing the film to some other commission will be inappropriate.

Commenting on the same Vishal Bhardwaj says, “The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has already viewed and certified the film.They are the final authority as per the law of the land and showing it to other bodies,after they have cleared it,undermines the role and position of the CBFC. The makers have further clarified that the film is not derogatory towards anyone and a disclaimer to this effect has been added before the commencement of the film.Bhardwaj adds,Of the seven members who watched our film,six were women!”

Ek Thi Daayan will release on 19^th April, 2013.

It seems to be a happy coincidence for Vishal Bharadwaj and Ekta Kapoor as the legendary theater Liberty Cinema will re-open with their film ‘Ek Thi Daayan’ starring Emraan Hashmi, KonKana Sen Sharma, Kalki Kochline and Huma Qureshi. Liberty had closed due to increasing competition and losses. 

Commenting on the same Vazir Hussain, owner of Liberty cinema says, “We have four films lined up.We will see how it goes.” In the last one year, there have been no film shows in the theatre but it has been open to small functions. It was shut as it used to incur huge losses and the audiences shifted loyalty towards other theatres in the vicinity.

‘Ek Thi Daayan’ is releasing on 19^th April, 2013.

We settle for a tet e tete...

I am very keen to forgo my comic image to a action hero as would like to give some sleeplless night to Khan's and Devgan.I got so involved in the action stunt for SAW that i hurt my feet severely.[he admits with a child like a expression].

As i asked him whether he was a part of the making process of the film SAW,no said the young very enthused TUSHAR as he was just acting and leaving the set just like other actors.

Apart from action he has got a scope to make audience cry as the role what he plays has many dimension and he is not going ot dissappoint them.

More is coming after SAW, but we wait for this attempt of Tushar and wish he comes  in the league of ACTION hero's.

Emraan Hashmi has agreed to losing one day of promoting his forthcoming 'Ek Thi Daayan'.

The reason? He has to complete shooting with Sanjay Dutt for Karan Johar's 'Ungli' in Mumbai before Dutt surrenders.

Emraan was supposed to be in Delhi on the 13th to promote 'Ek Thi Daayan' at the Kingdom of Dreams but will be in Delhi on the 11th and 12th in stead.

'Ek Thi Daayan' releases worldwide on April 19.

Apart from Deepti Naval, Farooq Sheikh and Rakesh Bedi, guests like Sudhir Mishra, Vinay Pathak, Arunoday Singh, Tannishtha Chatterjee, Sandhya Mridul, Sarah Jane Dias, Sudhanshu Pandey, Makrand Deshpande, Raman lamba, Cyrus Sahukar, Jackky Bhagnani, Ranvijay and Tinu Anand were present.

The corporate house Viacom18 has full faith in this project and has therefore decided to release the film during the IPL matches in May this year, this is a comedy movie is based on the lines of Jim Carrey’s ‘Dumb and Dumber’, a complete entertainer having Kunal Roy Kapur and Veer Das play lead with Shobhit Rana as central character. 

Shobhit hopes this film will be a major break for her in Bollywood.
